Methodology
My WvW build philosophy.
This page explains how I think a character should be prepared for WvW. Since each character has nine equipment and build template slots, I use those slots to cover the situations I expect to face: small fights, large fights, and a few specialized roles.
Slots
The nine-slot setup
Small Scale
Slots 1-3Roaming, duo play, havoc, and small-group fights. Slot 1 is the default recommendation; slot 3 can be more specialized or experimental.
Large Scale
Slots 4-6Zerg and squad play where boon coverage, role clarity, commander calls, and fight timing matter more than isolated duels.
Niche
Slots 7-9Specialized builds for jobs that do not fit cleanly into the small-scale or large-scale rows.
Tiers are subjective ratings for each profession and slot. They are not a global ranking across the whole game.
